A Letter from Eagle Scout Candidate Jeffrey Heiferman:

My name is Jeffrey Heiferman and I am in River Forest Boy Scout Troop 65 and a sophomore at Oak Park and River Forest High School.

I am currently working on my Eagle Scout project which consists of purchasing and installing outdoor benches for the River Forest Public Library. This will allow library patrons to enjoy reading outdoors in front of the library. I will also be installing a newspaper display shelf on the second floor of the library in order for library users to be able to see and use the newspapers more efficiently and effectively.

Not only will my project benefit patrons of the library, but it will also allow seniors, children, and others from the community to enjoy reading outdoors, right in front of our community library.

In order to make these improvements to the library, I am looking for community support to help me fund my project. I hope you will assist me by donating money to improve the River Forest Public Library. I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you will contribute to my Eagle Scout project which will help to improve our community.

Getting a Library Card is easy!

At the Library, present a picture ID reflecting a current River Forest address (such as a driver's license or state ID) and current proof of residency in River Forest (utility bill, bank statement, vehicle registration, or postmarked envelope sent within the last three months).
Children and teens under the age of 18 must have their parents sign their application for a card and present proof of River Forest residency.

Your card can be processed on the spot. Your card must be renewed every two years, and can be used in all Metropolitan Library System libraries, as well as Chicago Public Library and many other area libraries. If you would like to apply for a library card online, click here!
